I need a place to stay.

Because my mom just woke up at 3 in the morning and accused me of waking her, even though I have not risen from my desk in hours, spent about 40 minutes screaming at me and berating me with the assistance of her wonderful fiance, and then tried to beat me.

I did not strike her back. I fended her off, and pushed her away when she tried to destroy my phone and laptop, to seal me off from the outside world. And because I did not lay down and take it, I am now homeless, again. No coy little plan to move out in a month or two to a place where I can be safe and happy with friends, and not even a roach-infested room to go rent this time.

So, yeah. I need a place to stay.

I don’t have many things, although I do have a kitten. I cannot leave him. My mother is in the other room as we speak discussing letting my brother kill him. I won’t be able to go to work tomorrow for fear of them destroying my things and murdering my cat.

I’m looking for anyone in or around New York, or someone financially capable of helping me travel farther. On Long Island would be nice, so I could still at least attempt to get to work. 

My mom reads my blog, so please, if you’re going to contact me, contact me privately.

I need to get out now. Someone please help. They’re going to kill my cat. They’re going to hurt me. I’m scared.

Don’t let kids go hungry this summer. Just because school is out doesn’t mean they can’t get the same free or reduced-cost meals they rely on during the school year. In fact, any kid or teen 18 and under can eat for free at designated summer meals sites across the country. But too many families don’t know about or don’t take advantage of the program.

Find summer meals in your community. And use these tools to let people know they’re available.
